The Center Party believes healthcare should be affordable, readily available, and consistent for all.
Whereas healthcare and drug costs are currently unaffordable, non-transparent to the consumer, nor is it readily available and consistent for all;
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports uniform world-wide pricing by U.S. drug companies that currently charge more to U.S. customers.
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports capping healthcare company profits to aid in ensuring availability of reasonably priced healthcare premiums and medical costs.
Whereas the Healthcare system is a complex, convoluted, and broken delivery system that garners almost 20% of the Gross National Product (GNP), reaching 4.3 trillion dollars in 2021;
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports industry innovations to reduce factors that drive up healthcare costs such as drug pricing, malpractice insurance, excessive legal judgements, and middleman markups.
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports transparency in billing before and after treatment, as well as uniform billing by providers for all services, regardless of type of insurance.
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports limiting government bureaucratic functions that hurt the financial independence of smaller hospitals, outpatient facilities, and individual doctors that are outside of large corporate operations.
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports removing bureaucratic barriers that hinder greater use of Direct Primary Care (DPC) and alternative delivery healthcare systems such as Accountable Care Organizations (ACO’s).
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports an overhaul of the medical malpractice judgement system awarding enormous payouts and sometimes frivolous lawsuits in order to reduce high insurance costs that get passed on to everyone else.
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports the right to make end-of-life choices in a dignified manner for individuals who are diagnosed with a terminal condition.
Whereas healthcare costs increase as people age with unhealthy behaviors that lead to chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes;
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports the important role that public health departments serve in reducing overall spending on healthcare by supporting a healthier population.
Whereas Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM’s) act in a monopolistic manner on drug pricing and availability, and no longer serve a truly useful purpose in the drug supply chain;
Be it resolved that the Center Party supports reducing Pharmacy Benefit Manager’s (PBM’s) influence on raising drug prices.
Whereas America is struggling to provide appropriate responsiveness in the delivery of healthcare in terms of preventive, diagnostic, acute and therapeutic care, for all people who are in need of accessing services;
Be it resolved that the Center Party believes healthcare is a fundamental factor of life for Americans, however, it should be balanced with both governmental discretionary spending as well as private sector offerings recognizing both have necessary roles and essential resources in the delivery of medical care and related healthcare services.
