Our energy policy should be balanced with safety and security being top priorities because electricity blackouts and brownouts are not acceptable.

Whereas legislative mandates to achieve renewable energy percentage goals are not realistic for time frames to build infrastructure which will likely result in an unstable power grid at times of stress;

Be it resolved that the Center Party does not support time based legislative mandates, and instead supports defined budgetary expenditures to purchase more renewable energy sources every year.

 

Whereas nuclear power can be built in a safe, reliable manner that is a zero-carbon energy currently supplying 10% of worldwide electric power from 440 power plants;

Be it resolved that the Center Party believes carefully designed highly regulated nuclear power plants should be built in the U.S.
